Dan Kalosky - String Bass String Bass Born July, 1954 in Youngstown, Ohio 1954 in Youngstown, Ohio

Dan began playing professionally at the age of 13 with “The Blue Ridge Boys”, a bluegrass-country western band in the YoungstownCleveland Ohio area. During his time with the group, he backed up Porter Wagoner and Dolly Parton and Hank Williams Jr. to name a few. Dan obtained his bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in Classical String Bass performance from Youngstown State University. Dan moved to Miami, Florida, where he spent eight years as a staff musician for Norwegian Caribbean Cruise Lines and four years on the “Stella Solaris” ship, doing the world cruises. While on the ships, played in the orchestras backing up many artists, “The Fifth Dimension,” “Little Richard,” “Patti Labelle,” naming a few. While touring Europe on the ships, he played in the Monte Carlo Casino in Monaco, plus others. While in Miami, he performed with Latin recording artist, “Zieda Palma,” “Nester Torez,” “The Barry Herman Orchestra,” and several others on a regular basis. He has played in the Knight Center (Miami), Breaker’s Hotel (Palm Beach), most of the hotels in South Florida, The Ritz (Naples, Florida), “Casa del Mar,” (Donald Trump’s house) in Palm beach, and the Paradise Casino in Bahamas. One year was spent in Las Vegas playing at the Sahara and Circus, Circus with the “Coasters,” country singer, “Chick Reeves,” and others. Dan returned to Youngstown, Ohio in 1992 where he was employed as a section bass in symphony orchestras in the Yo. -Cleveland area. Venues that were performed in include Stambaugh Auditorium (Youngstown), Powers Auditorium (Youngstown), Severance Hall, Carnegie Hall, and the Kennedy Center for Performing Arts. He also worked with the “NICE Jazz Trio”, (Lee Bush, Alan Petersen, Dan Kalosky) at the Cleveland Clinic as an Artist in Residence and recorded several CDs with them. Dan now lives in Hudson, Florida, where he plays with the Central Florida Opera, Tampa Bay Symphony, Idlewild Baptist Orchestra, pit orchestras for the shows, freelance jazz gigs, and “The Wayne and Dan” Duo, which can be seen every Wednesday at “The Lion’s Den” in Ybor City, and every Friday at “Olive the World Bistro” in Tarpon Springs, Florida.

Wayne Pearson - Clarinet, Sax, Flute Wayne Pearson - Clarinet, Sax, Flute Born, August 1956 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Wayne started playing professionally at the age of 14 in a pit band for a Burlesque show in Philadelphia. He worked with various Jazz and Dixieland Bands in the Philly area and also in Atlantic City and Wildwood New Jersey. Wayne worked with such artists as Harry Johnson, Jack Fine, Sammy King, Philly Joe Jones, Joey Scott, and Eddy Lock, to name a few. He also played Jazz festivals in New Jersey with Bud Friedman and Jack Fine. Wayne in Amsterdam, Holland for three years. He also played the USO shows in Holland and Germany at the US Army and Air Force Bases. He came back to the US and worked in New Orleans with Lloyd Rambert and Johnny Horne. Returning back to the Philadelphia area, Wayne worked in the casinos in Atlantic City and Nick’s in New York City. He also worked in other clubs and venues in Baltimore, Pennsylvania, Delaware, and New York City. Upon moving to the Tampa, Florida area, Wayne played at the famous “Café Criole” in Ybor City for 15 years. He also worked for Joe Bruno and others around the SW Florida area. Wayne is one of the most sought-after reed player in the Tampa-St. Pete area. He can be seen playing at many Jazz and Dixieland events, venues, and restaurants in big bands, Jazz combos, and as “Wayne and Dan”, a clarinet/sax and acoustic bass duo. The duo can be seen every Wednesday at the “Lion’s Den” in Ybor City and every Friday at “Olive the World Bistro” in Tarpon Springs, Florida.
